One or more of the following symptoms may be observed on a Dell Pro Max 16 MC16250: Incorrectly recognized as Dell Pro Max 14 MC14250 in BIOS No POST with five amber and two white, two amber and four white, two amber and five white, or one amber and six white error codes Random crash, shutdown, or reboot Overheating, thermal shutdown, or thermal performance Fan not operating, fan error, fan unresponsive, or CPU fan failure Type-C no function, USB port device not recognized, or dock not working Memory error, memory failure, memory frequency error, or memory quantity change Secondary SSD (SSD2) not detected Affected Platforms: Dell Pro Max 16 MC16250
This is due to a detection error with the system identification.
Allow the laptop to cool for at least 30 minutes if it does not turn on and exhibits the described symptoms. Once it has cooled down, turn it back on and update the BIOS to version 1.9.1. Note: Before starting the update, perform the following: Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to: Back Up and Recovery Connect the AC adapter if updates are being run on a laptop. Updating the BIOS to version 1.9.1 or later on the laptop resolves the issue.
