Deployment of a template with virtual disk configuration set with action " CREATE " fails with error " Unable to create a virtual disk because an invalid combination of span count or number of disks was entered for the RAID level selected " When a Server Configuration Profile (SCP) containing RAID attributes—such as Virtual Drives (VDs) and their associated physical disks - is exported from iDRAC and later used to create a template in OpenManage Enterprise (OME) version 4.5.x, only the first physical disk linked to the VD is in the generated template. The remaining physical disks associated with the same VD are not captured in the template. This issue occurs irrespective of whether the template is created from an SCP file or directly from a reference device. The behavior is specific to OME version 4.5.x and does not occur in earlier versions, including OME 4.4 and OME 4.3.
The physical disk attribute ID was incorrectly identified as a duplicate and later filtered out during the template ingestion process.
The issue has been resolved in OpenManage Enterprise (OME) version 4.6.0. For users who require this fix in OME 4.5.x versions, reach out to Dell Support.
