Dell Pro Max 16 Premium MA16250 with NVIDIA discrete GPU may display a message on the lower wattage power adapter when starting the computer: "You have plugged in a lower wattage power adapter, USB-C charging device, or power pass-through device. Your system will continue to work, but may not perform at its peak." After the computer boots into the operating system, a battery saver message displays on the right corner of the taskbar, then disappears in a few seconds: "Slow charger - To speed up charging, use the charger that came with the device.# The issue occurs when connecting dual cable with WD19DC or WD19DCS. Affected Platform: Dell Pro Max 16 Premium MA16250
The WD19DC and WD19DCS docks do not support Extended Power Range (EPR). The current Dell Pro Max 16 Premium MA16250 design does not support the dual cable power input up to 165 Watts. This limits the computer to use single cable power input to 130 Watts.
Note: Before starting the update, perform the following: Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to Back Up and Recovery . Connect the AC adapter. Updating the BIOS to version 1.5.0 or later on the computer resolves the issue. To download and install the BIOS, refer to the BIOS Update Guide .
