A Dell Pro Max Tower T2 FCT2250 or Dell Pro Max Tower T2 XE FCT2250 may experience no POST with a 1-8 error (1 orange, 8 white), 2-4 error (2 orange, 4 white), or the computer stops responding. This happens with computer configurations where there are either two or four sticks of 32 GB RAM installed. Affected Platforms: Dell Pro Max Tower T2 FCT2250 Dell Pro Max Tower T2 XE FCT2250
A BIOS coding error causes this issue.
Hold the power button down until the computer shuts down. Turn the computer on again and then update the BIOS to resolve this issue. Updating to BIOS version 1.5.2 or later on the computer resolves the issue. To download and install the BIOS, refer to the Dell BIOS and UEFI Update Download and Installation Guide . If holding the power button down and turning the computer back on again does not allow the computer to continue past the 1-8 error or 2-4 error, Contact Technical Support .
