The file failed to parse the inventory.ini on creation causing the file to be empty.
This command regenerates the inventory.ini file whenever an issue is detected, including during automated inventory file generation, and can also be run manually at any time an issue with the file is found. sudo xdoctor autopilot --inventory admin@ecsnode1:~> sudo xdoctor autopilot --inventory Updated inventory file /opt/emc/xdoctor/config/inventory.ini On newer releases: sudo xdoctor ansible --update
