When a DUP is run in Microsoft Windows OS, it may fail with authentication failure. The issue can occur when the required root CA certificate is not present in the OS Certificate store. Dell Server Update Utility (DSU) may show no compliance report after it is launched as Inventory collector DUP fails to start.
The Dell DUPS is signed using a CA certificate, absence of CA cert in the certificate store results in DUP execution failures. Microsoft Windows Operating systems carry an "Entrust Root Certification Authority (G2)" Certificate in a trusted CA store by default, even if it is deleted, it is recovered by the OS. OS customization may have removed this certificate.
CA certificate "Entrust Root Certification Authority G2" is required to be present in Trusted Root Certificate Authorities store in Windows OS for successful execution of DUP in OS. Certificate can be downloaded from https://crt.sh/?q=entrust+G2 to install in Windows trust store.
