After an upgrade of PowerProtect Data Manager to 19.17, all PowerStore NAS backups are failing directly after starting. The error seen is the following: ABNA0025: Unable to complete the SNAPSHOT_AND_SLICE operation because the snapshot path of the PowerStore share XXX for snapshot DELL-XXXX cannot be detected.
This issue ONLY occurs when using PowerStore arrays and if the authentication to the array from the PowerProtect Data Manager is set with an Active Directory. The original issue is with the backup account which was provided as user@domain.com . When you try to add this account to the PowerStore Array, PowerStore cannot resolve it as a valid username and returns an error.
The valid format is user@domain . Once the account is given in this format, the account is added successfully followed by successful backup. To make this change: From the PowerProtect Data Manager UI , go to Administration > Credentials Locate the user for your PowerStore array, and ensure that the format is user@domain If the format is not correct, edit it to the right format.
