This is due defects FOS-850500 and FOS-856476. FOS-850500 Issue: User observes Fan kick starts and stays at a high speed. Closed in Release: FOS9.1.1d (Implemented), FOS9.2.0b (Implemented), FOS9.2.1a (Implemented) Defect Condition: After an i2c reset, the Fan controller is not ready but the software is reading fan speed with invalid data, and falsely believing the fan has stopped. First Affected Release: FOS9.1.1b FOS-856476 Issue: CLI fanshow shows Fan absent when re-inserted. Closed in Release: FOS9.2.0b (Implemented), FOS9.2.1a (Implemented) Defect Condition: Remove Fan out of chassis, then inserted back on X6 and X7 platforms. First Affected Release: FOS9.1.1d
The issue is resolved on FOS 9.2.0b and FOS 9.2.1a.
