During the Power On Self-Test (POST) phase, the system may encounter issues with single or multi-bit ECC messages, or experience unplanned data unavailability related to the Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller (PERC).
PERC firmware memory handling
Fix : Update the PERC11 firmware version to 52.21.1-5149 for PERC H750, H755, and H755N. Updated firmware includes Improved DDR4 Memory settings to prevent critical DDR4 memory errors that may result in a controller stop responding condition, including Single Bit Errors (SBE) and Multi Bit Errors (MBE) Important Note: Once the firmware update is complete, it is crucial to perform a complete graceful shutdown to power off the system. A power on to enable the new memory settings must then be performed. Caution: A warm reboot or system reset DOES NOT activate the updated memory settings. If the Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) or Lifecycle Controller (LC) is used to perform the update, a graceful shutdown to power off the system after the update is still required. Dell Technologies recommends upgrading at the earliest available opportunity to prevent future occurrences of this issue, regardless of whether it has been observed.
