The Teams-certified headset may exhibit intermittent button functionality issues when the USB dongle is connected for the first time on a new computer. The computer may show: Teams button controls do not respond. Teams-specific functions, such as call control, Raise Hand, or launching Microsoft Teams, may be temporarily unavailable. Headset speaker and microphone functions continue to operate normally. Affected Headsets: Dell Pro Plus Wireless ANC Headset WL5024 Dell Pro Premium Wireless ANC Headset WL7024 Dell Pro Wireless Headset WL3024
The issue is caused by a timing conflict during the initial device registration process between Windows and Microsoft Teams. When a Teams-certified headset USB dongle is connected to a new computer for the first time, Teams-specific button controls may not be registered correctly. This is a known software behavior that has also been observed with other headset brands and does not indicate a headset hardware defect.
If Teams button functions do not respond during the first USB dongle connection, use one of the following recovery methods: Disconnect the headset USB dongle from the computer. Reconnect the USB dongle and allow Windows to complete device enumeration. Verify that the headset is powered on and connected. Check whether the Teams button functions operate normally. Alternatively, restart the computer or power the headset off and back on. After the device is successfully registered and enumerated, Teams button functionality should be restored. The issue is not expected to recur during subsequent connections.
