VMware ESXI 6.0 update 2 doesn't auto-register as host in Dell Unity. The host is not automatically discovered.
Host is not properly auto-registered in Unisphere.
To solve this issue, try rebooting the host. If rebooting the host didn't solve the problem try the below steps. 1. From the vCenter , ensure that the parameter that is responsible for the automatic discovery is enabled (It is set to 1) . 1) In the vSphere Client, select the host in the inventory panel. 2) Click the Configuration tab and select Software >> Advanced Settings . 3) Select Disk in the left panel and scroll down to Disk.EnableNaviReg on the right. 4) Ensure that the value is set to 1. (This is the default value ) 5) Reboot the host for the changes to take effect. 2. Perform a rescan for new devices. 1) In the vSphere Client, select a host and click the Configuration tab. 2) In the Hardware panel , select Storage Adapters , and click Rescan above the Storage Adapters panel. 3) To discover new disks or LUNs, select Scan for New Storage Devices .
