PowerFlex Manager is unable to find a usable IP address and prevents the service deployment and node expansion. asmManager.log: ERROR [http-nio-9080-exec-6,tid=226] (RestTemplateResponseErrorHandler.java:46): REST Error: { "status" : 500, "error" : null, "localizedMessage" : null, "message" : null, "messages" : [ { "messageCode" : "IDENTITYPOOLMANAGER.3004", "messageBundle" : "IdentityPoolManager", "severity" : "INFO", "category" : "USER_FACING", "displayMessage" : "The IP addresses for the specified network configuration 8a90208b8344ac8b018344e177d50008 cannot be assigned. If a conflicting/duplicate IP is used, PowerFlex Manager fails to deploy a new service or node expansion. PowerFlex Manager makes these checks to prevent IP conflicts and unintentional outages that can result from deploying nodes with duplicate IP addresses. PowerFlex Manager uses multiple methods to confirm IP addresses are in use: PowerFlex Manager verifies if any IPs that are defined in the Deploy a service wizard exist in vCenter inventory and PowerFlex inventory. PowerFlex Manager checks the following three ports to ensure the IPs are not in use: 22 80 135 If it responds on any of the ports, locate the IP that causes the conflict and make the necessary changes to resolve it.
Check for duplicate IP: Ping IP address from PFxM, sds data network, mgmt network, ESXi/VC, or any other network that reports conflict Check networks in use by PFxM Highlight the network in PFxM > Settings > Networks. Scroll to bottom to ensure that the IP address is not in use Run the following curl command with port 22, 80, and 135 curl --insecure --verbose https://<IP >: port number If it connects, it is confirmed that it is in use and is a duplicate IP. Duplicate IP detection could also be caused by port detection from a load balancer or an intrusion detection system (IDS) For example: -bash-4.2# curl --insecure --verbose Https://192.168.xxx.64 :80 -bash-4.2# * About to connect() to 192.168.xxx.64 port 80 (#0) -bash-4.2# * Trying 192.168.xxx.64... -bash-4.2# * Connected to 192.168.xxx.64 (192.168.xxxx.64) port 80 (#0) Procedure to remove the conflicting IP Use a new IP (find where the conflicting IP is used and resolve it) If duplicate IP cannot be found and the curl command connects, disable a specific port in PowerFlex Manager (Dell internal procedure) Retry the deployment of new nodes or do node expansion.
