Drives behind PERC are NOT detected in Windows/VMware ESXi Installation if Firmware Device Order (FDO) is enabled in PERC10/PERC11 as illustrated below.
Windows and VMware ESXi do NOT support Firmware Device Order (FDO).
This is expected behavior. Windows and VMware ESXi are incompatible with Firmware Device Order (FDO). It is mentioned in the online document PERC-11-Linux-Firmware-Device-Ordering-DfD page #5. If you enable FDO, the below warning message shows up during POST if you try to install Windows/VMware ESXi and reboot the server.
