The policy remains listed on the source cluster when reviewing the list of policies. The policy remains listed on the target cluster when viewing the SyncIQ target list, provided a job session has previously run for this policy. SyncIQ policy deletion fails when being performed from the CLI or WebUI and the below error message is found in /var/log/messages and /var/log/isi_migrate.log log files. delete_policy failed: Can't connect to node IP address
The SyncIQ policy deletion fails if the source cluster cannot establish a SyncIQ connection to the target cluster.
1. Once the connection between the source and target clusters is restored, SyncIQ deletes the policy during the next scheduled job or when the job is run manually. 2. If SyncIQ source cluster cannot permanently communicate with the target cluster, or if you need to delete the policy immediately, follow these steps. On the source cluster run the command to delete the SyncIQ policy locally only. isi sync policies delete <policy-name> --local-only To verify the SyncIQ policy has been deleted. isi sync policies list Note: The isi sync policies delete <policy-name> --local-only command removes the policy information from the local cluster only. If a job session has previously run for this policy, additional steps are required on the target cluster to clean up the policy records. Run the commands on the target cluster to verify the policy information is still listed. isi sync target list Break the target association with the policy that has already been deleted on the source cluster. isi sync target break <policy-name> Verify that the target records have been removed. isi sync target list
