When Dell PowerStore encounters an issue, an error alert is generated to help identify the issue. This article explains the different possible causes and the relevant remediation for these error alerts. Alert Text NAS server %(vdmname) fault tolerance is degraded. Alert ID SDNAS_NAS_SERVER_DEGRADED Description NAS server is in service, but its fault tolerance is degraded. The service might be disrupted if there is an unexpected failure. Error Code (0x01300C02) Resolution Cause Failover or if the backup node fails triggers this degraded state. It can also happen if a cluster starts, but one of the nodes is down and cannot be started. Remediation If the condition persists, contact Technical Support for assistance. Alert Text NAS server %(vdmname) is down. Alert ID SDNAS_NAS_SERVER_OUT_OF_SERVICE Description NAS Server does not provide service on any of NAS cluster nodes. Error Code (0x01300C01) Resolution Cause This alert is triggered when one of the PowerStore nodes goes down where the NAS is hosted. Remediation If the condition persists, contact Technical Support for assistance. Alert ID SDNAS_NAS_SERVER_IN_MAINTENANCE Description NAS server is in maintenance mode for recovery. Error Code (0x01300C05) Resolution Cause If a user encounters the alert "NAS server is in Maintenance Mode" without any prior actions, the possibility is that it is in stop state. Remediation If the condition persists, contact Technical Support for assistance.
