Avamar Bare Metal Recovery fails during the recovery wizard when retrieving critical volume information. The wizard reports the following error message: "Error retrieving the list of Critical Volume Results" The failure happens during disk detection in the Avamar Windows BMR Wizard. Environment Server model: HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Server Operating System: Windows Server 2016 Standard Firmware mode: UEFI Avamar BMR Wizard ISOs: Avamar_Windows_BMR_Wizard_x64_WinPE10-7.4.101-58.iso AvamarWindowsBMRWizard_x64_WinPE10-7.5.101-101.iso
The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 server contains an internal MicroSD card slot. The Avamar BMR Wizard running under WinPE detects the MicroSD device as Disk 0. The server boot disk LUNs appear as Disk 1 or higher. Avamar BMR expects the operating system disk to appear as Disk 0 and fails when the WinPE disk order does not match this expectation.
Disable the MicroSD card slot in the server's settings. The disk LUN should then be recognized as DISK 0 and Avamar BMR will complete successfully.
