Upgrade to or installation of RecoverPoint for Virtual Machine (RP4VM) 5.1.x. The RP4VMs plug-in may display the number of used licenses incorrectly when a vCenter is registered to more than one RPVMs cluster, typically as a multiple of the correct number of protected VMs, suggesting that the user has exhausted all the available licenses. RecoverPoint for VMs Management > Dashboard > System Limits > System Status Description vRPA Clusters Current Value of Limit (X) Number of protected VMs out of the number of VMs limited by the vCenter Server license ([ 1F2E3D4C-5B6A-1F2E-E2F1A6B5C4D3] ). [X times N] out of [Y] There are no symptoms in the logs for this issue, because the calculation happens only in the plug-in's JavaScript modules and is not logged anywhere.
There is an incorrect calculation that is made in the RP4VMs plug-in when the same vCenter is registered on more than one RP4VMs cluster. This is most likely to happen in the instance of linked-vCenter mode.
Workaround: This is a display issue only, and does not prevent user from protecting additional VMs. No workaround is required . However, replacing the permanent license for the number of VMs actually (potentially) protected with a temporary license for the displayed number of VMs (potentially) protected clears the benign error status from the plug-in display. Fix: Dell engineering is investigating this issue. RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines 5.2 addresses this issue.
