Attempts to copy C:\ on windows host fails with the following error during the VSS freeze/thaw stage. Server log: Microsoft VSS error: Unexpected provider error. Verify the load and configuration of the storage array and try again.The AppSync VSS service encountered an exception: VSS replication failed during Thaw. See the host plugin event log for details.
AppSync does not make a copy of C:\ as it contains host system information. Page 205 AppSync 3.7 User and Administration Guide: You can select one or more file systems to protect at one time. (except a file system C:\ which contains host system information.)
AppSync does not support making a copy of the Operating System volumes (typically C:\ on Windows hosts). Any data on this volume that must be protected by AppSync should be migrated to another supported volume.
