Summary When a switch is added to a stack, or is being replaced with a different model in a stack, this can result in "Cfg mismatch" under Switch Status in #show switch . Products Affected N1500 N2000/N2100 N3000/N3100/N3000E-ON N4000 series
This occurs when the actual switch model and the designated switch model do not match.
Solution Confirm that all units are on the same firmware version. Save a copy of the running configuration for the stack to your local personal computer. These steps WILL ERASE the configuration for the unit number being removed and readded. If the con fig is not backed up, the ports on that switch it must be manually reconfigured. Power off the unit in question Run the following commands: Commands Description show supported switchtype This shows all models that could be in the stack- identify the number corresponding to the correct model conf Configuration mode stack Stack configuration mode no member Removes all configuration of that unit number from the stack member Add the unit back to the stack with the correct model number from the first command end Exit con fig mode show switch Verify resolution- "Cfg mismatch" should be replaced with "Ok" write Save changes Reapply the configuration for that unit This can be done from the command line with copy paste or from switch UI where you upload the backup configuration file from step 2. Power on the switch member Verify resolution and save changes
