The SRv6 locator should be automatically programmed and show a status of "Up" following a reload, provided the configuration exists in the startup-config.

Symptom

The command show srv6 locator returns: "SRV6 has no locator configured",

Conditions

Steps to Reproduce Enable feature srv6 and feature nv overlay. Configure a Segment Routing SRv6 locator and encapsulation source address: segment-routing srv6 locators locator BWI prefix 2a13:9141:fff6:4::/64 encapsulation source-address 2a13:9141:fff6:4::1 Save the configuration (copy running-config startup-config). Reload the device. After the reload, verify the operational state using show srv6 locator.

Workaround

The locator can be manually restored by toggling the segment-routing configuration, but this cannot be seen as a workaround as a reload can happen without manual intervention. This is a SS for deploying SRv6 in customer network. Remove the segment-routing block: no segment-routing Re-apply the segment-routing, srv6, and locator configuration. The locator then transitions to the "Up" state.
