2960X stack may observe hang/freeze of member switches or complete stack. Affected member switch is shown as removed in "show switch" output and stops responding on console also. Switches don't crash but gets hung/freeze. Switch reports some or all logs similar to: PLATFORM_IPC-3-COMMON: Unknown IPC message type size SPANTREE-2-RECV_PVID_ERR: Received BPDU with inconsistent peer vlan id on StackPort3 VLAN. SPANTREE-2-BLOCK_PVID_PEER: Blocking StackPort3 on . Inconsistent peer vlan. SPANTREE-2-BLOCK_PVID_LOCAL: Blocking StackPort3 on . Inconsistent local vlan. SPANTREE-2-UNBLOCK_CONSIST_PORT: Unblocking StackPort3 on VLAN. Port consistency restored. XDR-3-XDROOS: Received an out of sequence IPC message. Expected 51482 but got 51481 from slot RP (9) FIB-2-FIBDISABLE: Fatal error, slot 4: XDR disabled SUPQ-4-CPUHB_RECV_STARVE: Still seeing receive queue stuck after throttling SUPQ-4-PORT_QUEUE_STUCK: Port queue Stuck for asic 0 port 14 queue 2
2960X Stack
This issue was seen on SDM template "lanbase-default" of 2960x. 2960x supports 2 other templates and this issue won't be seen on them: a) default b) lanbase-routing It's advised to evaluate deployment scale (mac-addr, L3 Routes Etc. needed) and then check if one of above two templates can be used as workaround.
