This is a documentation defect requesting updates to the FMC configuration guides for versions 7.6, 7.7, and 10.0. Currently, the "Backup/Restore" chapter still contains multiple references to the "Retrieve to Management Center" option, which was removed starting with version 7.6. Specifically, the following fragments need to be updated: 1. In "Table 3. Remote Storage and Backup File Management," remove the note from the first row: To store backup on the remote storage location, you must also enable the Retrieve to Management Center option (see Back up a Device from the Firewall Management Center). 2. In "Table 4. Backup Storage Locations," remove the note from the first and second rows: Backup is stored on a remote storage location only when you have configured remote storage and enabled the Retrieve to Management Center option (see Back up a Device from the Firewall Management Center). 3. In "Table 4. Backup Storage Locations," modify the following line in the third row: Device backups are saved to /var/sf/remote-backup on the Firewall Management Center if you enable the Retrieve to Management Center option when you perform the backup. Suggested new text: Device backups are saved to /var/sf/remote-backup on the Firewall Management Center if you choose "Management Center" as the "Save in" option when you perform the backup. 4. In "Table 4. Backup Storage Locations," modify the following line in the fourth row: Device backup files are saved to /var/sf/backup on the device if you: • Do not configure remote storage by mounting a network volume. • Do not enable Retrieve to Management Center. Suggested new text: Device backup files are saved to /var/sf/backup on the device if you choose "Threat Defence" as the "Save in" option when you perform the backup.
