Standby switch goes into a continuous reload cycle with the following message printed to console: Chassis reloading, reason - Notification timer Expired for RF Client: NGMOD HMS RF client(10101)
This issue is rare but has been observed in the following situation: 1. Initial boot to join active switch in SVL
No workaround is available. A reload of entire stack (including Active switch) must be issued to successfully form a SSO Hot stack. Otherwise the Standby will continuously reload with the same reload reason.
This timeout observed during stack formation happens due to a software timing issue which causes EEPROM read to fail, which prevents Standby from reaching SSO hot because the Physical State Machine gets stuck. This particular bug fix activates a fix from an internal bug where a delayed chasfs sync was identified to have been causing the EEPROM read to fail. There is a separate ongoing internal effort in progress to further increase the stability of these EEPROM reads.
