The Notification Daemon generates false alarms indicating that Snort and Disk are down. This issue arises from the Notification Daemon's heartbeat action. As a result, misleading alerts are issued, and failover or cluster unit removal is triggered.
- Initially applied to low-end platforms. - HA or Cluster configuration enabled.
None
Failover is triggered, or a cluster unit is removed, when a heartbeat timeout occurs. With this fix, reliable notifications will only be triggered when Snort explicitly reports a crash or when there is a notification from the Process Manager (PM), prompting the appropriate failover or cluster actions.
