Jul 19 03:05:34.458: %BOOT-3-BOOTTIME_INCOMPATIBLE_SW_DETECTED: Switch 2 R0/0: issu_stack: Incompatible software detected. Details: Chassis 1 is detected INCOMPATIBLE with software version of Active: FAILED: Version 'V169_4_SR03' mismatch with Active's running version '16.09.04' for package: 'cc_srdriver'
Affected releases : 16.9.2, 16.9.3, 16.9.4, 16.9.5, 16.9.6, 16.9.7
Conditions
Issue is observed when below mentioned all conditions are met
1) When Cat9200L stack has switches with different hardware version V01 and V02/V03 or V02 and V03
2) Bootloader version for V02 or V03 device is 17.9.1r [FC4]
3) IOS image installed is 16.9.2 or 16.9.3 or 16.9.4 or 16.9.5 or 16.9.6 or 16.9.7
Workaround
1) For Cat9200L devices 17.6.3 or 17.3.5 are recommended release from cisco. IF recommended release software is installed in all device, stack formation will work fine for hardware version V01 and V02/V03 devices.
2) Problem is fixed in latest bootloader version of 17.9.1r [FC8] which is integrated with 17.9.1 release software. If we want to have 16.9.3/16.9.4 release software in stack switches having V01 and V02/V03 device combination, First install 17.9.1 release image to upgrade bootloader in V02 and V03 devices. Once bootloader upgrade is complete in all devices and devices are up with 17.9.1 image, we can install 16.9.3/16.9.4 release images.
