Symptom

APs stopped broadcasting the SSID. Other SSID where the config change wasn't applied were being broadcasted properly. Just the one with the config change had stopped.

Conditions

AP count: 2374 Client count: ~15000 S/W version: 17.3.5EFT When the customer made the Max client count change and hit "Apply", they started getting complaints from wireless users and realized that a huge chunk of the APs were not broadcasting the SSID. To recover, the customer carried out a failover of the controllers which helped bring back the SSIDs on most APs. Post failover they still observed that a few APs weren't still broadcasting the SSID.

Workaround

capwap restart on the AP or reload the AP helps. But this isn't viable since there is no way to do a capwap restart for multiple APs at once and reloading the APs causes outages.
