There is a known limitation of CPLD firmware versions with 16.x code using the upgrade rom-monitor capsule golden command To resolve the failed golden capsule ROMMON upgrade, please first upgrade CPLD. This will recover the primary rommon version: In 17.x code: #conf t #service internal #end #upgrade hw-programmable cpld filename bootflash: rp active (or standby if on the standby supervisor or chassis) Please note, the CPLD Upgrade procedure entails a reload of the box in question. This should be performed during a maintenance window with scheduled downtime. Please reach out to TAC to determine if your Sup board is running the impacted CPLD firmware version and/or if you require assistance to perform CPLD upgrade.
