Sysadmin SMU deployment on NCS5500.
Log message could be considered as cosmetic. There are two different options to avoid this log message: 1. Supress log message 2. Incresase size of disk on SC with command "mount -o remount,size=1g tmpfs /lxc_rootfs/panini_vol_grp-calvados_lv0/" from host OS on SC card. This will add 100MB extra to SC card. This workaround will not survive a SC reload: Example: [host:0_SC0:/]$ mount -o remount,size=1g tmpfs /lxc_rootfs/panini_vol_grp-calvados_lv0/ To log to host OS on SC card: RP/0/RP0/CPU0:NCS5516A#admin iox connected from 127.0.0.1 using console on BRU-5516A sysadmin-vm:0_RP0# run [sysadmin-vm:0_RP0:~]$/opt/cisco/calvados/sbin/rconsole -l 0/SC0 Connecting to Card Manager Node Scope service Getting Mastership Status from Card Manager Slot 27 HW arbitration result = Master Writing to console register => Address 0xfc set to 0x801d0000 Connecting .. Escape char is ^x [control+x] -----------------------------------------> Please mind this for exiting later host:0_SC0 login: Password: or RP/0/RP0/CPU0:NCS5516Ar#admin iox connected from 127.0.0.1 using console on BRU-5516A sysadmin-vm:0_RP0# attach location 0/sc0 [sysadmin-vm:0_SC0:~]$ ssh 10.0.2.16 [host:0_SC0:~]$
• Low disk space log messages may be seen on SC cards or FC cards on NCS5500. It is required to store some packages on disk. • These log messages could be considered cosmetic. SC or FC cards should bring the software from memory on boot up. • In order to remove log messages, we need to manually add more memory to root-fs for calvados on SCs (command ?mount -o remount,size=1g tmpfs /lxc_rootfs/panini_vol_grp-calvados_lv0/?). This is considered as safe to run in production environment. • Low disk space on SC cards on NCS5500 could be seen again on router reload or new SMU deployment. • These log messages should not create any problems on new SMU deployment in the router.
