Code fixes that were introduced through Cisco Bug Id CSCvo60580 were intended to allow the ASA 5512, 5515, 5525, 5545 and 5555 platforms to gather and log data should there be issues travering the PCI memory and capabilities indices on the platform. Prior to the fix for CSCvo60580, should that PCI information becomes corrupted, the ASA firewall may traceback and reload. After the fix for CSCvo60580, the device will log the following level-1 syslog message: %ASA-1-743008: Failed to read cfg space for PCI device with vendor ID: 0x8086 device ID: 0x0040 located at (00:00.00). Raw dump of cfg space to flash/disk will be attempted. And report information to console instead of reloading when this situation is encountered. Unfortunately it appears as tho the calculation does not correctly handle reading the data related to Internal-Data0/1, and such it incorrectly generates these messages and console output. This is a false positive error message and can be ignored if it is shown while running commands such as 'show interface detail' which must enumerate the Internal-Data0/1 interface as well. In the below output, you will see that the error is displayed once the output reached the lines related to Internal-Data0/1: ASA# show interface detail ...
