Symptom
Following error messages are observed during the booting sequence of the switch:
% failed to initialize nvram
% attempting to recover from backup
% failed to initialize backup nvram
Conditions
Error messages are seeing when:
++ First time switch is booted.
++ After erasing the content of NVRAM and reloading the switch:
C9300# write erase
Erasing the nvram filesystem will remove all configuration files! Continue? [confirm]
[OK]
Erase of nvram: complete
C9300# reload
Workaround
++ Error messages are no longer seen after issuing a "wr mem" or "copy run start" as the contents of nvram will be initialized at that point.
