When executing a remote command using RSH, the local session could hang and the remote TCB will remain in FINWAIT2 state
RSH is being used to retrieve the command remotely. This is seen when executing single line command output only. When multiline output commands executed it is working fine with more prompt.
1) Terminate the remote TCB. 2) Initiate a second session using SSH/Telnet. 2) Use another local terminal (i.e. Mac OS terminal)
When executing a remote command, the local Cisco device will not send a FIN message to the remote host. This will cause two things: 1) The local session will hang if domain lookup is configured and the user is connected to a VTY 2) The TCB in the remote host will remain in FINWAIT2 state.
