Symptom

A kernel panic may occur due to a divide-by-zero error when a thread's CPU time counter reaches a value in which the lower 32 bits are all zero. This will only occur in long-lived processes.

Conditions

This issue is generally seen on an ASR1K and ISR4K routers with a long uptime.
