Note : It is recommended to use the Xerox Smart Start installer to set up printing for Windows on your computer A video on how to install the printer via the recommended method is here: Video: Setup the Windows Print Driver . IMPORTANT : System Administrator permissions may be required to modify properties If options are grayed out, please contact your system administrator To provide system administrator credentials, click General , and click Change Properties A Windows credential window will prompt for the system administrator login information. To Add a Port : To Configure a Port From Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners click on the printer you wish to modify the port settings for Click Manage > Printer Properties . Alternatively, from the Devices and Printers in Control Panel, right click on the printer you wish to modify and click Printer Properties . Click Ports . Click Add Port . Select Standard TCP/IP Port . Click New Port . Click Next on the Printer Port Wizard. Type the printer’s Hostname or IP Address. The Port Name should reflect what was entered into the previous field This can be changed here if required. Click Next . Note : If the Hostname or IP Address is not automatically detected by the wizard you may be prompted to select a Device Type Select Generic Network Card and click Next. Click Finish . Make sure the new port is checked Click Apply Then click Close . Make sure the port you wish to modify is highlighted. Click Configure Port . Change the Printer Name or IP Address to reflect the printer’s Hostname or IP Address. Note : The Port Name cannot be changed when configuring a port Refer to steps Add a Port to create a new port with a different name. Click Ok . Make sure the new port is checked Click Apply Then click Close .
