If you have selected the Advanced Letter Punch option within the job properties, the expected result is to have the job delivered with the selected edge punched If the job is delivered but is not punched, there are 2 possible causes: There is a mechanical problem Check that the GBC punch module is functioning by going to the machine and photocopying a job and then selecting the Advanced Letter Punch option If the copy job is delivered with the selected edge punched, then there is no mechanical issue If it does not punch a service call is required to solve the mechanical issue. The job settings are preventing the selected edge from being punched This is the most common cause of this issue You must be sure that the settings you have selected DO NOT prevent the selected edge from being punched When this occurs, the job will still be delivered, but will not be punched Example : If you have selected that the long edge is to be punched but the paper is feeding from a tray that was loaded short edge feed (SEF), it is impossible for the machine to punch the selected edge The paper would need to be pulled from a tray that is loaded long edge feed (LEF) This is just one example There are multiple job settings that could cause this to occur so it is important that you verify the settings you have selected and make whatever corrections are neccessary.
