Note : If the printer is reporting that it is out of color toner (C, M, Y) it is still possible to print in black and white as long as the expired toner cartridge is still installed and there are no other pending jobs or errors If you experience issues, please see steps at the bottom for more information. To specify Black and White printing for the current print job: To specify Black and White as the default for all print jobs (Windows): To specify Two-Sided Printing as the default for all print jobs (Macintosh): Note : The ability to set printing preferences is based on Presets A Preset can be created to quickly switch between different pre-set printing options. If Unable to Print in Black and White when Color Toner has Run Out (Run Black): In your software application, access the print settings For most software applications, press CTRL+P for Windows or CMD+P for Macintosh. Select your printer, then open the print driver. For Windows, click Printer Properties Depending on your application, the title of the button varies. For Macintosh, in the Print window, click Copies & Pages , then select Xerox Features or Printer Features . For Macintosh, in the Print window, click Copies & Pages , then select Xerox Features or Printer Features . Click Printing Options, Image Options, or Quality . Check Xerox Black and White Conversion or Print in Black and White . Press OK to save changes. At your computer, click Start , then select Settings . Select Devices then select Printers & scanners Click on your printer from the list and then click Manage Select Printing preferences . Click Printing Options or Quality . Check Xerox Black and White Conversion or Print in Black and White . Press OK to save changes. In your software application, access the print settings For most software applications, press CMD+P. Select your printer In the Print window, click Copies & Pages , then select Xerox Features or Printer Features . Click Image Options . Check X erox Black and White Conversion or Print in Black and White . Click Presets and select Save Current Settings as Presets . Set the Preset Name and Press OK . Ensure all jobs on the printer have been deleted or cleared Any jobs that are waiting for color toner can prevent black and white jobs from printing. Ensure no other errors are present on the printer Any jam faults or other expired consumables such as Drums/Imaging Units or a Fuser may prevent printing completely. Ensure the correct driver is being used The print driver has the specific instructions needed to tell the printer to proceed without color toner For additional information see Remove and Reinstall the Print Driver .
