Wireless connectivity issues are encountered when connecting printers or any multi-function devices to certain models of wireless gateway modems which is supplied by Comcast/Xfinity and/or Rogers/Shaw To resolve these issues, check the following steps: Wireless connection is successful but unable to print Printer obtains wireless network IP address via DHCP but still unable to print Pinging the printer IP results in a large number of lost packets and/or ping timeouts The embedded web server ( EWS ) intermittently loads when accessed The firmware of the device will need to be updated to the latest version available For details, refer to Check, Download, and Update with the Latest Printer Firmware Note: After firmware is updated, make sure the firmware level on the device is at the updated release level. After the printer firmware is updated, make sure to perform the following steps: Access the SE menu on the printer's control panel by: Pressing the Back + Left + Back + Left buttons (2 Line panel) Pressing the Back + Back + Home + Home buttons (2.8 panel) Pressing * * 4 1 1 buttons (4.3” panel models and above) Access the SE menu on the printer's control panel by: Pressing the Back + Left + Back + Left buttons (2 Line panel) Pressing the Back + Back + Home + Home buttons (2.8 panel) Pressing * * 4 1 1 buttons (4.3” panel models and above) Pressing the Back + Left + Back + Left buttons (2 Line panel) Pressing the Back + Back + Home + Home buttons (2.8 panel) Pressing * * 4 1 1 buttons (4.3” panel models and above) Under the SE Menu select Network SE Menu > Wireless Settings > Disable Wireless 11n . Set Disable Wireless 11n to ON , then exit the menu. Enabling this setting will allow the printer to connect in legacy Wi-Fi mode and should remedy the connectivity issue with these wireless gateway modems. Note: Do not change any other settings under the Network SE Menu. Set Disable Wireless 11n to ON , then exit the menu. Enabling this setting will allow the printer to connect in legacy Wi-Fi mode and should remedy the connectivity issue with these wireless gateway modems. After changing the settings, make sure to restart the printer Check that printer is reconnected or set up via wireless to the modem/router. Send a print job to the printer over the wireless connection. If the problem persists, contact Support for additional assistance.
