This issue typically occurs when the Microsoft Windows printing port associated with your printer is incorrect or has not been created properly. The best way to resolve this problem is to remove the printer from Devices and Printers and then force Windows to detect and re-install the printer again. To Remove and Re-install the Printer: Note: These steps were performed on a computer with a Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System (OS). Steps will vary if a different OS is being used. If the problem persists, contact Support for additional assistance. Power the printer off. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer. From the computer, open the Devices and Printers window. Click on the Start button, and then click on Settings . Click on Devices . At the bottom of the Printers & Scanners category, under Related Settings , click on Devices & Printers . Click on the Start button, and then click on Settings . Click on Devices . At the bottom of the Printers & Scanners category, under Related Settings , click on Devices & Printers . Locate the printer icon for your device within Devices and Printers, and then right-click on the printer icon and select Remove Device . The message, " Are you sure you want to remove this device? " will be displayed Click on Yes to remove the printer. Restart the computer and wait for it to completely boot up. Power on the printer and wait for it to completely boot up. When both the computer and printer are completely powered on: Connect one end of the USB cable to the printer. Connect the other end of the cable into an available USB port on the computer. Windows should automatically detect the printer and provide the steps to install the printer software. Connect one end of the USB cable to the printer. Connect the other end of the cable into an available USB port on the computer. Windows should automatically detect the printer and provide the steps to install the printer software. After the printer software has been re-installed, send a test print job to the printer.
