This is caused when the IP address assigned to the printer is already being used by an other device on the network Changing this IP address to a valid IP address that is not currently in use on the network will resolve this issue When changing the IP address of the printer, any computer that currently prints to the device may not longer be able to print until the printer is readded to the computer Alternatively, an IT administrator can resolve this issue by ensuring the IP address assigned to the printer is not used by an other device on the network. From the control panel of the device: Note: If the IP address the device receives is 0.0.0.0 or starts with a 169 after turning on DHCP, then there is no DHCP server on the network A valid IPv4 address, gateway address, and subnet mask should come from the network administrator. Related Content: Turn on DHCP to get a valid IP address that not currently in use by an other device. Print a configuration report. Turn off DHCP to set the IP address to static. Use the IP address, gateway address, and subnet mask from the configuration report. If required, add the printer to a computer to enable printing to the device. Configure IP Settings
