When attempting to modify the Xerox Standard Accounting "Print Time Prompt" feature in Xerox V3 Global Print Driver 5.645.5.0 and later, users will notice the field is greyed out. The following Accounting features in the print driver UI remain configurable; The above condition is an intended design modification in Xerox AltaLink, starting in firmware general release 101.xxx.008.27400 and above, in conjunction with Xerox V3 Global Print Driver version 5.645.5.0 and above The design specification is intended to automatically streamline the AltaLink accounting configuration directly to the Gloabl Print Driver without the requirement of user intervention within the Printer Driver Should users wish to manually configure Xerox Standard Accounting in the Printer driver, the following steps must be executed; Mask User ID: Mask Acount ID: Remember Last Entered Codes: Accounting codes: Within Windows navbigate to control panel, devices and printers. Select the installed AltaLink MFD and right click to open the submenu of options. Select printer properties. Click the advanced tab. Within the Bi-Directional Communication configuration, change the option from Automatic to Off. Click ok at the bottom of the print queue ui. Users will now notice within the accounting configuration below Bi-Directional communication, Print Time Prompt feature can now be adjusted. The caveat to manually configuring accounting Print Time Prompt in this particular scenario is that Bi-Directional Communication must remain Off within the printer driver to maintain the manual configuration Disabling Bi-Directional communication will limit the printer driver in providing printer status's, toner levels, and paper tray status to the end user.
