The print head requires regular cleaning to maintain print quality
Clean the print head LED lens every time the toner cartridge is replaced or if print quality starts to degrade.
CAUTION: Do not perform this procedure when the printer is copying or printing.
If the problem persists, contact Support for additional assistance.
Open the front door of the printer.
Rotate the orange print cartridge locking lever counter-clockwise until it clicks
The lever is to the right of the print cartridge unit, which is labeled R2.
Locate the blue handle at the top right of the print cartridge and pull it out of the printer until it stops (after about 40 cm or 16").
Push the blue handle gently back into the printer to wipe the print head clean.
Pull the blue handle out of the printer and push it in again two more times.
Rotate the orange print cartridge locking lever clockwise to latch the print cartridge and print head cleaning tool in place.
Close the front door of the printer.
