When attempting to add and save applications to the Workspace ONE UEM Console, the following error displays:"Application already exists at the same organization group."
This article provides troubleshooting steps to resolve the error: "Application already exists at the same organization group." This article also includes the necessary steps for application activation, application deactivation, and fully removing an application from the Console.
The error above can arise when an application has already been assigned to a device.
You can determine whether or not an application (app) has been assigned to a device by taking the following steps:Within the Workspace ONE UEM Console, navigate to Apps & Books > Applications > Native > Public. In the List View window, you will see a dropdown Filters button. Here, you can select Status and you will have the ability to select: All (Inactivate and Active), Active, and Inactive apps (see picture below). Active applications are applications that have been assigned to devices. Inactive applications are applications that have not been assigned to a device. Once an inactive app has been identified, it can be either reactivated or fully removed from the Console and then added again. Application Reactivation Navigate to: Apps & Books > Native > Public > Filters > Status > Inactive > Click on the blue highlighted name of the Application > Select More in the right-hand corner > Activate. A pop-up box will appear to confirm app activation and you can select OK to confirm. Afterward, you should be able to assign the app as normal. Application Deactivation Navigate to: Apps & Books > Native > Public > Click on the blue highlighted name of the Application > Select More in the right-hand corner > Deactivate. A pop-up box will appear to confirm activation and you can select OK. Fully remove an application from the Console Ensure the application is not currently assigned (delete/remove the current Smart Group Assignment). When Delete is selected for an Active app with a Smart Group assignment, the app does not get deleted but is moved to an Inactive state. Therefore, the steps below must be followed to ensure it is fully removed from the console: Navigate to Apps & Books > Native > Public > Filters > Status > Inactive > Select the Radio Button beside the app > Delete If an Active app is not assigned to any Smart Groups, Delete can be selected and the application will be fully removed from the console by following these steps: Navigate to Apps & Books > Native > Public > Select the Radio Button beside the app > Delete.
