Symptoms
Repository backup taking a very long time to complete.Slow rps save times for Windows servers running Bit9 Server Security software and Smarts software
Cause
Bit9 server security software filters and monitors the smarts save process, causing save times to increase to 30 to 60 times normal save times.
Resolution
Bit9 security software needs to be uninstalled from the Smarts server.Just disabling the software does not allow Smarts to save the rps file normally.Once uninstalled, the rps backup time should be back to normal and complete in under a minute.
