How do you prevent certain notifications from being delivered to the SDI Adapter and archived in the SQL database. In one specific example, a customer had numerous heartbeat notifications that were unnecessary for archival and caused the database to grow very large.
By default, the SDI Adapter subscribes to all notifications in the SAM it connects to.
The sdi.conf file (located under <BASEDIR>/smarts/conf/sdi/) includes the following entry: remoteServers += {"INCHARGE-SA","ALL_NOTIFICATIONS"}This configuration identifies the SAM domain as well as the Notification List the SDI Adapter pulls from. The default Notification List that it uses is ALL_NOTIFICATIONS.To prevent specific notifications from being viewed by the SDI Adapter, refer to the SAM documentation for creating a Notification List that excludes the alarms that are not desired. Here is a link to the Service Assurance Manager 9.2 Configuration Guide for additional details regarding notification lists: https://support.emc.com/docu46529_Smarts-Service-Assurance-Manager-9.2-Configuration-Guide.pdf?language=en_US
