Purpose
This article documents antivirus exclusions that may be created to reduce the impact that antivirus software has on the functionality of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. These antivirus exclusions may be applied to the Windows built-in antivirus or third-party antivirus software.
Note: Antivirus will not always cause Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 functions to fail; antivirus software may also negatively impact performance.

On the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 server:

*Any folder that contains repository databases
PostgreSQL Antivirus Exclusion Recommendation (For Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v8 and higher)
On Backup Proxy Servers:
%windir%\Veeam\
%programdata%\Veeam\
On Backup Repositories:
%windir%\Veeam\
%programdata%\Veeam\
*Any folder that contains repository databases.
