Any ACL with only new lines (\r\n) always evaluates to false. If users accidentally add only comments and then at least a couple of new lines followed by more comments or no comments, the ACL always evaluates to false, which can cause debugging issues.
Create a new table or use any existing table without script field populated. Ensure that this is the only ACL on the table. Adjust the ACLs such that users with the itil role can read the records (ACL's record/table/read). Add any of the following text to the script field of the ACL: // adding comments //returns nothing at this time ----or ----- /** comments go here **/ // Log in as an itil user. Note that you are not be able to see the fields
Make sure the script section of an ACL contains more than just comments. Remove the comments completely and leave that field blank.
