ServiceNow has identified a regression in the Washington DC release due to which Gateway Password decryption fails and Key Management Framework (KMF) can go into a broken state. As the instance cannot connect to KeySecure, all functionality depending on KMF like Password2, CLE (Column Level Encryption), IDR (Instance Data Replication) etc are affected. This defect affects only gateway sharded instances and that too when there is at least one table with name longer than 30 characters. Steps to Reproduce 1. Provision an instance on Washington or above 2. Configure secondary database pools/shards 3. Restart the instance
Initialization is successful.
Initialization fails because KMF is prematurely initialized.
