Introduced in Utah, instances with AI Search and Virtual Agent (VA) may experience that the search in VA is not always working. The system property "glide.cs.runtime.user_input_max_length" value number refers to the maximum length of the input variables allowed inside VA. This includes the size of the AI Search payload received. The error occurs if the AI Search payload size is larger than the value set in the system property. Steps to Reproduce 1. Set property "glide.cs.runtime.user_input_max_length" to out of the box value "10240". 2. Go to /sp portal. 3. Open Virtual Agent. 4. Type "spam email". The virtual agent does not show any results. 5. Set the property value to "20000". VA works as expected.
This problem has been fixed. If you are able to upgrade, review the Fixed In section to determine the latest version with a permanent fix your instance can be upgraded to. As a workaround, look in the system logs a traced message like: "The result of Search metadata exceeded the max input size:10240.0, but currentSize:xxxxx", and set the system property glide.cs.runtime.user_input_max_length to the value you see in currentSize from the logged message.
