How to configure an on-premise / self-hosted instance to enable the correct functioning of KMF is covered in KB0951869. Once configured the following messages can be seen in the localhost logs: 2022-12-20 09:54:43 (235) Default-thread-12 SYSTEM txid=64554843b733 DEBUG: Going to check if glide.kmf.properties exists at: ../conf/overrides.d/glide.kmf.properties 2022-12-20 09:54:43 (235) Default-thread-12 SYSTEM txid=64554843b733 DEBUG: Failed to read nae KMF properties from glide.kmf.properties 2022-12-20 09:54:43 (235) Default-thread-12 SYSTEM txid=64554843b733 DEBUG: Going to check if glide.kmf.keysecure.properties exists at: ../conf/overrides.d/glide.kmf.keysecure.properties 2022-12-20 09:54:43 (235) Default-thread-12 SYSTEM txid=64554843b733 DEBUG: Failed to read KMF keysecure properties from glide.kmf.keysecure.properties 2022-12-20 09:54:43 (236) Default-thread-12 SYSTEM txid=64554843b733 DEBUG: Going to check if glide.kmf.keystore.properties exists at: ../conf/overrides.d/glide.kmf.keystore.properties 2022-12-20 09:54:43 (236) Default-thread-12 SYSTEM txid=64554843b733 DEBUG: Loading properties from KMF keystore properties from file: glide.kmf.keystore.properties The glide.kmf.properties and glide.kmf.keysecure.properties files are currently only used by ServiceNow hosted instances and these messages can be ignored. Only the glide.kmf.keystore.properties is used by on-premise instances so that the instance is able to locate and access the keystore file which contains the instance's root certificate (see KB0951869).
Configure a self-hosted instance by following KB0951869 then navigate to the Key Management Framework > Diagnostics page which will trigger the loading of the KMF property files if this has not already occurred.
None needed. The glide.kmf.properties and glide.kmf.keysecure.properties files are only currently used by instances hosted on the ServiceNow cloud, and are used to configure the instances to use other security infrastructure which used on-cloud. Therefore the messages about these two properties files can be ignored. If there is an error regarding the third properties file, glide.kmf.keystore.properties, then check that all the steps provided in KB0951869 have been followed correctly.
