Windows OS - Servers on the 'DNS' step, will run a nslookup only on the IP address on which the discovery was run. The value returned is used to populate cmdb_ci_dns_name table. A server with multiple IP addresses can have a DNS name assigned to each IP address. In such a scenario, the pattern will fail to populate all DNS names assigned to a server Probe-based discovery is not affected by this. Steps to Reproduce 1) Run a quick discovery on one IP which uses the Windows OS Server pattern. 2) Navigate to the form view of the CI you have just discovered. Check the "CI IPs" related list, you should find all IP addresses. 3) Check the DNS Names-related list. It will only contain one DNS name, which comes from the IP address you used as Source in step 2 of the pattern. Workaround 1) Import the XML attached. 2) Add extension section 3) Add Step select library Reference 4) Select library name: Get DNS name of IP's (win) and save. 5) Navigate to discovery --> MID Server --> Click on pattern sync to Mid 6) Run the discovery
