OOB there is a dictionary override on sn_si_incident table state field and the 'getInitialState' method is returning the state value of type number and the Default value column is of type "String". To fix this, navigate to: /nav_to.do?uri=sys_dictionary_override.do?sys_id=1f878663ff123100158bffffffffffb9 Edit the override as follows: javascript: String(new sn_si.ProcessDefinition().getInitialState('sn_si_incident'));
